Protection Plus Florida Servicer Appointment Process

Step One

The State of Florida's Department of Insurance "DOI" requires that all sellers (Dealer/Servicer) of Extended Service Plans in the State of Florida must be licensed (2-52 Extended Service Agreement Sales Representative) and appointed by the insurance company (American Bankers Insurance Company) who underwrites the Protection Plus program in the State of Florida. Each selling location must be licensed separately at a fee of $55.00 per application.

Apply for a license or, log onto The State of Florida's Department of Insurance.

Step Two

Once the Florida Department of Insurance has issued your license(s), the insurance underwriter (American Bankers Insurance Company) for this program in Florida has to appoint your company to sell the Protection Plus Program. To start the appointment process, please complete the form below to receive information on how to become appointed by the American Bankers Insurance Company c/o Protection Plus.

Once your request is received, the following documents will be mailed to you for completion:

• Signature and Authorization Form
• Business Entity Licensing Data Transmittal Form

You will be requested to complete the forms above and return them to the Protection Plus Administrator along with the following:

• Copy of your 2-52 License
• Check made payable to the: ABLAC

The Appointment Fees are as follows and are made payable to ABLAC:

• "Resident" Base fee for the appointment is $60.00.
• "Non-resident" Base Fee for the appointment is $60.00, and an additional $6.00 fee for each county in which you conduct business.

Step Three

After we have received all of the completed forms from you as cited in Step 2, we will mail all of this documentation to American Bankers Insurance Company for processing. It will take approximately 30 to 60 days for the insurance company to perform their investigation. To check the progress of your appointment, please go to the Florida D.O.I. website.
